The Fryer's Delight, Holborn

This Chip Fiend has passed The Fryer's Delight before, the sign showing a cartoon fish doffing its bowler hat and holding a chip caught their eye. It was noted that this should be a place to visit.

The chippy is on busy Theobalds Road in Holborn, London.

There are tables to eat in but this Chip Fiend opted for take away.
The menu includes rock, skate and scampi as well as the usual cod and haddock.

The medium sized cod portion at £4.90 was served with the skin on in a crispy, bubbly orange batter. The fish tasted very fresh, with firm creamy flakes.
The chips were cut medium thick and were potatoey without being starchy. Delicious.

Another plus is that the fish and chips were served in paper. This is the Chip Fiends' preferred method as it keeps the food hot for longer.

Definitely a chippy to visit again.
